Renukaswamy murder case: Kannada actor Darshan remanded in judicial custody till July 4

A court here on Saturday remanded Kannada actor Darshan Thoogudeepa to judicial custody in the Renukaswamy murder case till July 4.

Sandalwood actor Darshan and three of his mates were charged for murdering Renukaswamy, and they were remanded in judicial custody. The actor was in the police custody since June 11. Darshan and his associates have been sent to the Central Prison for judicial custody in Parappana Agrahara on Saturday (June 22).

The Special Public Prosecutor prayed the court for a direction to lodge the accused persons separately and in different jails across Karnataka, which was opposed by Darshan's lawyers. Fans gathered in large number to see Darshan when the actor was taken into judicial custody, while the actor waved at fans from inside bus. Police have tightened the security in and around the jail circle as they suspect the fans to gather around the location anytime.

It is worth mentioning that this is not the first that Darshan was arrested, he was also arrested in 2011 for beating his wife Vijayalakshmi and this three-year-old son. Darshan spent a month time in jail until he was granted bail by Bangalore High Court. Darshan later compromised with his Vijayalaksmi to sort out the issue.
