Upendra Rao, known simply as Upendra is not only an accomplished actor, but he has also made his mark as a director and screenplay writer. However, there's an interesting fact about Upendra that many might not know that he once had the chance to direct a film with none other than Megastar Chiranjeevi.
In a recent interview reported by 123telugu, Upendra revealed that he missed the opportunity to work with Chiranjeevi due to the latter's immense stardom and brand image.
At that time, Upendra was relatively new to the industry and felt unsure about his ability to handle a star of Chiranjeevi's calibre. Despite having some interesting ideas for the project, Upendra doubted whether they would suit Chiranjeevi’s larger-than-life persona. He candidly admitted that he felt it was not his destiny to collaborate with the Megastar.

Upendra gives a glimpse into the challenges that filmmakers face when working with iconic stars. Although the project never took off, Upendra's career continued to flourish, and he remains a celebrated figure in both Kannada and Telugu cinema. His films like 'Upendra' and "A" earned him a special place in the hearts of Telugu audiences. He has also played significant parts in movies like 'Kanyadaanam', 'Son of Satyamurthy', and more.
Upendra is now gearing up for his next venture, a film titled 'UI', which he is also directing alongside acting.

Meanwhile, Chiranjeevi is busy with his upcoming socio-fantasy film, 'Vishwambhara'. This ambitious project features Trisha Krishnan in the lead role, along with Ashika Ranganath, Ramya Pasupaleti, and Kunal Kapoor in key roles.
