The wise say that one of the things that leads you to abundance -- abundance of wealth, happiness, friendly ties -- is contentment. Contentment makes you self-assured that you are always complete, nothing is lacking, you have enough. What you need is always with you and you know that -- the good was, the good is and the good will continue to come your way that feeling itself brings you more and more abundance. Once you are full of contentment, desires don’t bother you, attachments don’t keep you awake, and fear falls apart. A story goes that a wise woman, who was travelling in the mountains, found a precious stone in a stream. The next day she met another traveller who was hungry. The wise woman opened her bag to share her food. The hungry traveller saw the precious stone and asked the woman to give it to him. And she did. She gave him the precious stone without any hesitation. The traveller left, rejoicing in his good fortune. He knew the stone was worth enough to give him security for a lifetime. But, a few days later, he came back to return the stone to the wise woman. “I’ve been thinking,” he said. “I know how valuable this stone is, but I give it back in the hope that you can give me something even more precious.
