WWE Tag Team switches name ahead of NXT Heatwave

Just a few days ago, a new match was added to the cards of NXT Heatwave. Last week, Karmen Petrovic was facing off against Jazmyn Nyx. Karmen was crucially close to winning it all, but a last minute interference from Nyx’s partner, Jacy Jane, completely flipped the script for Petrovic’s game. She lost the match and, in her fury, approached the General Manager, Ava.
Ava had been paying attention to Karmen and Arianna Grace’s backstage conversation ahead of Petrovic’s match.Karmen expressed her frustration over the fact that she won’t be a part of the NXT Heatwave PLE, and fellow Canadian Arianna shared her sentiments on the matter. So, Ava put the two of them in a team to face Jazmyn Nyx and Jacy Jane.

Ahead of their match, Karmen has taken to X to show how her and Arianna’s preparations are going. The video uploaded by her indicates that the pair are working on improving their ‘bonding’ and they will surely need some good chemistry amongst themselves if they hope to topple Nyx and Jane.
It seems like they've taken a step forward in their relationship and have decided on a team name. Karmen and Arianna Grace’s pairing will be known as Beauty and the Blade. Last week, when Petrovic heard Ava’s decision, she was visibly frustrated. It seemed like she was under the impression that her mentor, Natalya, would be fighting alongside her.
While being blindsided and paired with a star she’s not familiar with doesn’t work in Petrovic’s favor, we have to remember that she almost won her match against Jazmyn Nyx. If Jacy Jane hadn’t made a timely intervention, Petrovich would've won the day.
Now that she has Arianna Grace by her side, the two should be able to put up a formidable fight. We also have to take into account that the NXT Heatwave PLE is taking place in Toronto, Canada. So, both Grace and Petrovic will be fighting in front of their home fans. The support alone should give these stars a boost ahead of their fight.

It is a little concerning that both Karmen and Grace were not exactly agreeing with each other on NXT before Ava decided to pair them up. If the two can’t make it work inside the ring and get on the same page, then Nyx and Jace will have a field day with ‘Beauty and the Blade’.
Hopefully, the Canadians can find comfort in the fact that they’re playing at home. That alone should be reason enough for them to bury their differences and focus on delivering a good show to their fans at home. NXT Heatwave is gearing up to be one of the most exciting events of this year.
Apart from Karmen and Grace’s match, we’ll also get to see a Fatal 4-way for the NXT Championship. It’ll be interesting to see how it all plays out on when these stars face each other on NXT Heatwave.
