After the controversial conclusion of the match between Randy Orton and Gunther at King and Queen of the Ring 2024, fans are eagerly anticipating a rematch. Although Chief Content Officer Triple H has hinted at a potential rematch between the 14-time World Heavyweight Champion and the Ring General, there has been no official confirmation yet.

Currently, Randy Orton is dealing with a knee injury sustained during his spectacular bout against Gunther. However, rumors suggest that the Apex Predator might return from his injury soon and could demand a rematch against Gunther, possibly taking place at Clash at the Castle 2024.

Here's everything you need to know about the rumored rematch between Randy Orton and Gunther

Randy Orton has been absent from television since his controversial loss to Gunther. The match concluded with Gunther pinning Orton, despite Orton's shoulder being off the mat. Following the match, Gunther was crowned the 2024 King of the Ring. In an interview, when Byron asked Triple H about the controversial finish, The Game mentioned that a rematch between Gunther and Orton is possible.

The exact date for the rematch has not been confirmed, but it could take place at either Clash at the Castle on June 15, 2024, or Money in the Bank on July 6, 2024. Until then, fans will have to wait for the return of the Apex Predator from his knee injury.

Rumors suggest that The Viper might return to Smackdown and seek a rematch against Gunther. He could request General Manager Nick Aldis to set up an inter-brand match. However, if Nick denies the proposal, Orton, driven by his desperation for the rematch, might escalate the matter to Triple H to secure his bout against Gunther.

When Randy Orton returns from his knee injury

During the finals of the King of the Ring tournament at the King and Queen of the Ring 2024, Randy Orton faced off against Gunther. The match was intense, with both competitors dominating each other. However, Gunther focused on Orton's knee, which had been injured during his semi-final match against Toma Tonga. This injury ultimately cost Orton the final match.

In the closing moments, Orton managed to hit an RKO and went for the pin, but Gunther struck Orton's knee and executed a leverage pin to secure the victory. The damage to Orton's knee was severe, preventing him from appearing on Smackdown.

Rumors suggest that the former WWE champion could soon return to demand a rematch against the Ring General. Fans are eagerly anticipating Orton's return and the possibility of him facing Gunther again.

Is Randy Orton's rivalry against the Bloodline over?

Randy Orton's ongoing feud with the Bloodline remains unresolved. Following his recent rematch with the Ring General, speculation arises that Orton might redirect his attention towards the Bloodline. Presently, Kevin Owens has taken up the mantle in Orton's absence, engaging in a heated confrontation against the Bloodline. With each passing week, tensions mount between Owens and the Bloodline, setting the stage for a potential tag team rivalry involving Orton, Owens, and the Bloodline.

During last week’s episode of Smackdown, Paul Heyman issued a cautionary warning to Owens, advising him to tread carefully against Solo Sikoa and his gang, likening them to a relentless mob. Owens defiantly declared his lack of respect for the current Bloodline members and vowed not to back down.

At this point, two significant developments seem imminent: Orton's comeback and a rematch against Gunther and once matters are settled with Gunther, Orton is poised to turn his focus towards the brewing conflict with the Bloodline.
