Will GTA 6 include a cryptocurrency mission, internet speculates

Grand Theft Auto 6 is set to release in 2025 and the rumours about the game having a cryptocurrency feature have started making rounds of the internet once again. In a post shared on the social media platform X (earlier Twitter), a crypto tipster named AltcoinGordan has revealed that Take Two-owned Rockstar Games may “enable crypto currency payments” in the highly-anticipated upcoming game.The leaker also claimed that “so far only Bitcoin, Ethereum and USDT confirmed.’

However, these rumours remain unverified as Rockstar has yet to confirm if these speculations are true. The post currently has more than 8 lakh views and some readers have also added that “Rockstar the makers of the GTA series has not confirmed if cryptocurrencies will be integrated into the game as of yet and is still a rumour.”
The post includes also a fake GTA 6 trailer and has spread very quickly online. When people asked him for proof, he joked around, saying his "uncle works there" or that other reports were old news. These playful responses have confused fans and crypto enthusiasts.
Apart from this, official trailers and announcements haven't mentioned anything about crypto. Rockstar hasn't addressed the rumours and is soon expected to clear things up.

This isn't the first time rumours about crypto in GTA 6 have popped up. In May 2023, similar rumours and a leaked first trailer even had a "BUY BTC" sign which may also be fake
However, if the rumours are to be true GTA 6 players will be able to use Bitcoin or Ethereum in the game. It may be a huge deal for crypto enthusiasts and may even get it into more people's hands through gaming.
For now, though, the crypto features in GTA 6 are just a rumour. Fans will have to wait and see what Rockstar Games officially announces as the game's release date gets closer.
