LG Polymers fined Rs 50cr for Vizag gas leak by NGT, ministry says firms violated green norms
May 9, 2020The LG Polymers’ plant in Vishakhapatnam violated green rules as far as its functioning under expanded capacity is concerned, the environment ministry said on Friday after conducting preliminary investigation in Thursday’s gas leak which claimed 11 lives.The National Green Tribunal on Friday imposed an interim fine of Rs 50 crore on LG Polymers.
