After a five-day battle for life, post-graduate medical student, Dharawath Preethi, died at the city's Nizam's Institute of Medical Sciences (NIMS) at 9:10pm of Sunday. She was 26. Tensions ran high in the hospital premises after the news broke with police using force to disperse angry protesters and family members, who stopped the ambulance carrying the body to the Gandhi Hospital mortuary for autopsy. While calling it a cold-blooded murder, not suicide, Preethi's father demanded answers from the administration on how and why she died. "We will not let go of the body, till we get answers," he said. Protests erupted at a national highway in Warangal.
