The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted a slight delay in the onset of monsoon over Kerala. According to the latest forecast, the monsoon is expected to arrive on June 4, three days later than the normal date of June 1. While this delay may impact the initial arrival of the rain-bearing system, it does not necessarily indicate any implications for the subsequent progress or distribution of rainfall across the country. Last year, inspite of rains starting 7 days before from the normal date, the stated recorded above normal rainfall.
