Uttar Pradesh public dismayed by skyrocketing vegetable prices, straining household budgets

Customer, seller, and wholesalers from Uttar Pradesh have expressed their views on the surge in tomato and other vegetable prices. There appears to be no relief from the sharp increase in tomato prices. The price of this kitchen staple has skyrocketed from Rs 15 per kg in early May to an astonishing Rs 120-150 per kg in various regions across the country. Household budgets are being thrown off balance.
