BJP worker was not killed in police lathi-charge: Patna SSP on Vijay Singh’s death

Bihar Police on July 13 said that lathi-charge was not the reason for BJP worker Vijay Singh’s death in Bihar’s Patna. SSP Patna Rajeev Mishra said, “Permission for a meeting at Gandhi Maidan but there was no permission given to carry out a march, irrespective of that a march was conducted. when Police tried to stop the march, they destroyed barricades, sprinkled chilly power on Policemen and pelted stones. After that Police used water cannons and teargas shells and resorted to lathi-charge. Right now, we can’t say how he died. However, according to the investigation till now, there was no involvement of lathi charge in his death. The reason for his death would only become clear after post-mortem. There were no marks of any injury on his body.”
