'We welcome this humbly': Ajit Pawar on EC declaring his faction as 'real' NCP, after eight-month clash

On Tuesday, the Election Commission resolved the National Congress Party (NCP) symbol dispute in favor of Ajit Pawar, nearly eight months after he parted ways from the Sharad Pawar faction to align with the Shiv Sena-BJP government in Maharashtra, bringing along eight NCP MLAs.Expressing his satisfaction, Maharashtra Deputy CM Ajit Pawar stated, "The Election Commission has ruled in our favor following our lawyers' arguments. The assessments of maintainability, including the constitution's aims and objectives and the majority test in organizational elections, were deemed inappropriate. The occupants of the party posts were primarily evaluated as being appointed by self-nominated members of the electoral college, contrary to internal party democracy."
