Payal Rohatgi's Boyfriend Sangram: "Big deal if she can't conceive! We can always have an adopted or surrogate child" - Exclusive!

Payal Rohatgi's statement in Ekta Kapoor and MX Player show 'Lock Upp' that she cannot conceive has been trending. Payal said that this was the reason why she hasn't married fiance Sangram yet. She added that despite repeated efforts by the couple, they've been unsuccessful. Payal said, "I can't have kids. Maine socha hum shaadi tab karege, when I can get pregnant. So, I have to be fit mentally and physically, concentrate on acting and go on with life.It's okay to not get pregnant. 4-5 saal se hum log try kar rahe hai, nhi ho raha. So now, Sangram has to figure it and I think he has figured it out that I can't get pregnant. Maine IVF kiya but it was not successful. Isliye main kehti hu kisi aur se shaadi karle- jo bache paida kar sake. Kabhi kabaar main aisa bolti hu. (Therefore, I tell Sangram to marry a girl, who can give him a child. I say this sometimes)."
The statement took everyone by surprise and the time was right to call up her boyfriend Sangram to get his take on it.
When contacted, Sangram told ETimes a few minutes ago, that he lauds Payal for the statement in question. "Payal is a very brave girl. I am proud of her. Yes, her IV failed and the doctors told her that she won't be able to conceive. But, so what? What is most important is that we love each other as we are. Tomorrow, the same problem I could have had; maybe I was unable to produce kids. Would Payal have left me then? Certainly not. Yes, she did tell me that I should start looking for someone else to marry and have kids of my own, but I could only laugh at what she suggested. We are together and we shall remain together forever."

Added Sangram, "Are people who have kids all happy? Kya kar liya hai un logone ne jinke bachche hain? Are they superior? So what's the big deal about kids? Love between partners is important and that's all that matters."

When prodded, Sangram said that the inability to conceive has upset Payal on a couple of occasions but he has always explained her that they can always go in for adoption. "I would love to bring up a child who is yearning for love. And, I just hope that Payal's statement is primarily seen as a message to all couples who cannot have a biological child. Still in many villages in our country, couples separate from each other to marry someone else in pursuit of having a biological child."
Have they discussed surrogacy, we asked? "Yes, but that's the second option. That's only if we don't go in for adoption."
Sangram and Payal would have been a married couple if Payal's IVF had succeeded. "But soon after that, her nani (maternal grandmother) expired and then her father was diagnosed with prostrate cancer. Anyway, we are definitely marrying in July as I had stated earlier."
