3 killed in Michigan State University shooting

A gunman opened fire on Monday night at the main campus of Michigan State University in United States, killing three people and injuring five, some severely, before he was found dead hours later, apparently from a self-inflicted gunshot, police said.

Gunman confirmed dead in shooting

The violence came roughly 14 months after a deadly mass shooting on Nov. 30, 2021, at Oxford High School in Oakland County, Michigan, about 80 miles east of East Lansing, in which a 15-year-old student opened fire with a semi-automatic pistol.

Prominent Indian-American politician Nikki Haley is challenging her one-time boss, former President Donald Trump, for the 2024 Republican presidential nomination, according to a video she released on Tuesday.

Haley was born to Punjabi Sikh parents

Haley was born Nimrata Nikki Randhawa to immigrant Indian Punjabi Sikh parents. Her father, Ajit Singh Randhawa, and her mother, Raj Kaur Randhawa, immigrated to the US from Amritsar. Her father was formerly a professor at Punjab Agricultural University, and her mother received her law degree from the University of Delhi.

Imran blames 'negligence' of security forces for spike in terror attacks

Imran Khan has said the outlawed Pakistani Taliban was allowed to flourish because of the "negligence" of the country's security forces, as the former prime minister underlined the importance of working closely with Afghanistan to jointly combat terrorism in the region.

Imran defends his government's move

Khan, the chairman of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf party, who was ousted from power in April 2022, made these comments in an interview with the Voice of America website. In the interview Khan, 70, strongly defended his government's move to greenlight negotiations with the Tehreek-e-Taliban (TTP) terrorist outfit.

Imran asks to combat terrorism
