    I spent 2 weeks at John Obey village near Freetown working on the TribeWanted Eco Projects there, including beach and village environmental cleanups, building earth bag and adobe dome houses using CalEarth methods, and helping with general community activities such as meal preparation.

    I was also lucky enough to visit 2 local schools and speak to the children, meet subsistence fishermen, go on a hike up a nearby mountain trail, and visit Freetown and another local village.

    I assisted SmartAid with business and HR matters in a voluntary capacity, such as reviewing job descriptions and adverts, and exploring funding streams and networking opportunities to grow their database of professional business advisors and project managers.

    I helped to plan and lead a community trip of over 30 people aged between 12 and 65 to climb Ben Nevis. Participants were from a diverse background within the LS10 and LS11 community. The trip was supported by the Hunslet Hawks and the Hamara centre and successfully built community cohesion and promoted exercise and achievement.

    We are currently planning the next trip, with the aim of conquering 2 peaks over a weekend in July 2016.

    I was a volunteer Teacher of English as a Foreign Language to a refugee, enabling her to progress from extremely limited basic English to a point where she was able to converse and start attending our local college to take further classes in English.

    This project aims to transform the iconic disused viaduct, which stretches out from the city centre through South Leeds, into a vibrant community green space and walkway.
