Blue Peter - Make your own DIY hanging basket

Step 1

First, tie two pieces of string onto two sticks. Then twist the sticks over to make two triangles.

Step 2

Next, thread in sticks under the string, alternating sides as you add them, each time using smaller sticks. Keep threading the sticks in until it gets really tight. Then, layer the sticks over and over again until you get a flat bottom.

Step 3

Tie some string to the thicker branches on both sides of the basket to create a handle. Now you’re ready to fill your basket!

Step 4

Gather some leaves and use them to line your basket by placing them around the insides, this way the water can drain slightly.

Step 5

Add in your peat-free compost and now its time to get planting. You could plant flowers or plants, whatever you choose, we're sure it will look amazing!
