their site says parking is free, but doesn't mention an entrance fee...is it also free? usually an "arboretum" has a charge but maybe this doesn't since it's a metropark? thanks!

There is no entrance fee to walk the park trails. There is a fee to become a member but that is entirely optional.
Many people bring their families for pictures. Some have their weddings there. There are good spots for photos throughout the park depending on the time of year.
