Black Friday has come and gone but many of the Black Friday deals on espresso machine deals remain but now they're Cyber Monday espresso machine deals. There are some hot new deals to be had though. For example, all the Breville espresso makers that have performed so well over the years in testing are now 20% off. While there are discounts on all sorts of things right now, deals on espresso makers are some of the best buys. Good ones are typically some of the more expensive small appliances you can get and that means the sales on them take a bigger bite out of those prices. They’re also great gifts for the coffee lover in your life (even, and especially, if that coffee lover is you).

We’ve rounded up what we think are the best Cyber Monday sales, but a few notes on what you will and won’t find on this page:

We’re big believers in using and approving of all the products we recommend, so that means that if it shows up here, it’s not just because it’s a Cyber Monday deal with a low price, it’s because we like the espresso it makes, think it’s easy to use, or is just a generally reliable kitchen appliance for the money. What you won’t find here are machines that don’t make espresso. That means no Keurig machines, no drip coffee machines, no cold brew coffee makers. If you’re looking for most single-serve, drip, or French press discounts, you can find them in our best Cyber Monday coffee maker deals piece over here (which, incidentally does actually feature some of the best coffee makers period). If you’re looking specifically for a Nespresso Vertuo or Nespresso Vertuoplus, check over here. But if you’re looking for something that can make you a real deal cappuccino or americano, scroll on down for deals of some actual best espresso machines at retailers like Amazon, Walmart, and Target.

Cyber Monday deals on semi-automatic espresso machines

To refresh your memories (or as an FYI if you aren't familiar with the terms), semi-automatic espresso makers use electric pumps and steam wands (as opposed to something like a Flair espresso maker, which is totally manual). However, the “semi” part refers to the fact that you need to fill and tamp your own brew baskets and separately brew the espresso and steam the milk. We generally prefer these because they let you perfect the flavor in more minute ways, but some of them (not all as you'll see below) require a little more work than a fully automatic espresso maker.

Diletta Mio

We’ll kick things off with the good stuff. Currently the Diletta Mio is our favorite prosumer (that’s professional x consumer) espresso maker. That means this is a higher end machine capable of producing pro level cappuccinos and that you have to want to get your coffee nerd on to use effectively. It’s also on sale for $200 off right now, which is about as cheap as prosumer machines can get (they can easily run into the many thousands of dollars). The machine is an effort between the excellent coffee retailer Seattle Coffee Gear and the Italian espresso maker company Diletta. Some of the things we love about it, besides that it makes great coffee, are how quickly it can heat up for such a high end machine, its smartly designed water tank that comes out the side instead of the back, and the ability to steam milk practically at the same time you’re brewing coffee. The only issue to know is that it has very low cup clearance, meaning you won’t be able to brew straight into a coffee mug.

Breville Bambino Plus

Breville espresso makers are famously user friendly and the most user-friendly of all is probably the Bambino Plus. It's currently our top pick as an espresso machine for beginners thanks it's relatively low price point (even lower now!) and dummy proof steam wand. Simply set the milk jug underneath and it takes care of the rest, including purging and cleaning itself. It also has the fastest heat up time of any of the some two dozen machines we tested for those who don't like to wait for their coffee.

Breville Barista Express Impress

The thing we love about the Barista Express Impress is that it actually teaches you something about making espresso while (metaphorically) holding your hand through the entire process. Its smart grinding and tamping system will make sure that you have just the right amount of coffee tamped with just the right amount of pressure, and it lets you know all that with a cute smiley face if you've done everything correctly. The one thing to be aware of with this machine (and basically all machines with built-in burr grinders) is that the grinding mechanism can jam up if you use tougher, light roast beans. Built-in grinders tend to be less powerful than stand alone ones, which can lead to the issues. So just make sure you stick to darker roasts if you go this route.

Breville Barista Express

This is essentially just the Express Impress without the smart tamping system. It's the same quality Breville machine with a built-in grinder (the same caution about light roast beans applies). But if you want to spend $150 less than the Impress and you don't mind tamping your shots, which is easy enough with a spring-loaded tamper like this one the original Barista Express is a great choice.

Breville Barista Touch Impress

If you like the hand holding of the Barista Express Impress but just wish it was hand holdier let us direct you to the Barista Touch Impress. It has the same smart grinding and tamping, but it comes with the milk frothing ease of the Bambino Plus. That means you select the drink recipe you want—cappuccino, flat white, latte, or babyccino (oy)—and stick the milk pitcher under the steam wand. The machine will take care of the rest. It even has settings for several different alt milks.

Breville Barista Touch

The last of the Breville machines here is the Barista Touch. Like the Express and Express Impress above, this is basically the Barista Touch Impress without the smart tamping. It will still handle the frothing for you, but you need to tamp the shot using your own muscles in a more precise way.

De'Longhi La Specialista Arte

De'Longhi's semi-auto machine is user friendly (it even takes coffee pods) and conveniently grinds directly into the portafilter from the built-in coffee grinder. A note on built-in burr grinders on espresso makers though: They tend to be underpowered. That means if you consistently grind lighter roast coffee beans in them they may jam up. If you go this route, stick with darker beans for your lattes and cappuccinos.

Cyber Monday deals on Fully Automatic Espresso machines

Unlike semi-auto machines, fully automatic espresso machines (or “super automatic” espresso machines) do everything—grinding, tamping, brewing, steaming milk—with the push of a single button. What you give up in customization compared to a semi-automatic machine you make up for with conveniences using one of these.

Spinn

The Spinn coffee maker was one of the picks in our inaugural Kitchen MVP awards and a top pick for single-serve coffee maker because it so fundamentally reimagined what an automatic espresso maker could be. It uses a centrifuge to force water through the ground coffee, and while that can't make espresso in a technical sense (there are certain parameters around water pressure and water temperature typically associated with espresso) it can, in the words of its founder, do a pretty good facsimile of a whole range of espresso drinks as well as other coffee drinks like pour-over and cold brew. Right now it's a whopping 40% off. If you want to maximize what it can do make sure to pick up the Spinn milk frother too.

De'Longhi Magnifica Evo

The more affordable of De'Longhi's fully automatic coffee makers, the Magnifica Evo can make six different coffee drinks with the push of a single button.

Miele CM5310 Silence

Miele is probably best known in the United States for their high-end dishwashers (great dishwashers, by the way). But they make a whole range of equipment, like their vacuums, which we love and their super automatic coffee makers. The CM5310 is beautiful, easy to use, and like the name suggests super quiet.

Philips 3200 with LatteGo

A little more basic than the Magnifica Evo, the Philips can brew five different coffee drinks, and, if you want it, put a serious dose of foam on top.

Café Affetto Automatic Espresso Machine

Café's entry to the automatic coffee maker world is just as good looking as the rest of its lineup. Unlike some of the other fully automatic machines that dispense milk according to a recipe, you get to choose how much milk you want with the Café’s built-in milk frother. A nice bit of customization in a world of automation.
