Supporting creators across Instagram and Facebook

Creator in sunglasses

Whether you're a creator who is just starting out or is more established in your journey, Instagram and Facebook are invested in supporting you and helping you accomplish your goals. Over the years, we’ve been listening to and learning from creators who have helped us design, develop and launch products so they can achieve success. We’ve learned that while success looks different for everyone, creators ultimately need tools that make it easy to express themselves, grow their audience, and have reliable ways to earn money – all while staying safe.

We want to ensure creators understand how Instagram and Facebook support all creators, so below we’re outlining a few ways we’re continuing to do so.

EXPRESS YOURSELF

Self-expression and creativity are at the center of any creator’s journey; and we want to make it as easy as possible for creators to tell their story through formats that fit their unique needs and creative styles. Across Instagram and Facebook, creators can use a mix of feed posts, stories, reels, lives, messaging and more – and we're constantly building new tools and improving existing features to meet creators' needs.

We’ve heard over and over again that creators want to be able to foster the important connections they have with their communities. On Instagram, features like Notes and Broadcast Channels are new easy ways to foster community, by engaging with fans directly. On Facebook, creators have options to meaningfully connect with fans and other creators, whether it’s through comments and conversations, groups, or features like weekly engagement lists and templates that make it easy to recognize your top fans.

GROW YOUR AUDIENCE

Creators are drivers of culture and inspiration – and we want to help them get discovered by the audiences who love their content. Reels in particular allow creators to connect with new audiences through short-form video, and are a key driver of growth for many creators on Instagram and Facebook. We're also using AI to put your posts in front of the people who may be most interested in them – within Feed, Explore and Reels.

Creators have additional tools to help drive their growth: hashtags help people discover content from creators they don't already follow; cross-posting lets you share your Instagram Reel to Facebook and vice versa to easily reach more people; and collabs expand your reach by co-authoring feed posts and reels with someone else.

We also know it’s important for creators to simply manage their presence. The creator account on Instagram has tools to help manage messages, understand growth with insights, use flexible controls, and schedule posts. The Account Status tool lets you know if your account’s content is eligible to be recommended - and how to fix any issues. We’ve also expanded Professional Mode for Profiles on Facebook, which enables creators to easily convert their personal profile to a public account and gain access to community and monetization tools to optimize their growth and content strategy.

EARN MONEY

We want to make it possible for any creator to make a living on Instagram and Facebook. We strongly believe in helping creators earn on our platforms and have built a suite of tools to allow them to do that —helping them get support from their fans, partner with brands and earn money directly from Instagram and Facebook:

From fans: Creators can develop deeper connections with their most engaged followers through subscriptions on Instagram and Facebook. Dedicated fans can connect with and show appreciation for their favorite creators by sending Stars based virtual gifts on Facebook and Instagram.

From brands: Brands and creators can partner for branded content deals - using Instagram’s creator marketplace to connect & develop partnerships, and the paid partnership label to disclose them across Instagram and Facebook.

From Meta: With in-stream ads on Facebook, creators can earn money when ads are shown during their on-demand or live videos, and we’ve been testing overlay ads on Facebook Reels as a way for creators to earn money for their Facebook Reels. On Instagram, we are evolving our Reels Play bonus and exploring ways to run the program in a more targeted form.

STAY SAFE

Safety and well-being – and cultivating a positive community – are foundational to any creator finding success on our apps.

We offer a number of features and controls to empower creators across Facebook and Instagram to manage and prevent unwanted interactions, like with our Hidden Words feature on Instagram that allows them to block certain words or phrases from comments or message requests, or our Moderation Assist feature on Facebook. We also let people hide comments in bulk, pin selected comments, or restrict certain people from messaging them entirely.

We also provide support to troubleshoot issues and educate creators on how to be successful on our platforms through our expansion of Creator Support, Live Chat, Education Hub and Safety School.

And importantly, to avoid access issues, you should set up two-factor authentication. But if it’s too late for that, and you believe you have been hacked, we also created Instagram.com/hacked - to report and resolve account access issues.
