Manushi was very specific that she wanted to give away the crown while retaining the essence of being an Indian woman. So we decided that we would make an Indian lehenga and a blouse, but we would keep the essence European. So we did a tone-on-tone, black on black embroidery with black jet beads. While the silhouette of her garment is Indian, it has the feel of old-world European couture. Her look has been accessorized with Victorian diamond earrings from the Sabyasachi Heritage Jewelry collection."
