Beauty queen Giang My receives compensation of $160 following flight mishap
Beauty queen Giang My faced a flight mishap during her journey from Vietnam to the U.S., receiving a compensation of VND4 million (US$156) from the airline. Giang, along with friends, departed from Tan Son Nhat International Airport at the end of May, transiting through Japan before heading to the U.S. However, about two hours into the flight, the captain announced a technical problem, leading to a return to the departure airport.

"We were jolted by the strong movement upon landing back at Tan Son Nhat, making us realize we had narrowly avoided a dangerous situation," Giang recounted. Each passenger received VND4 million in compensation, but the incident caused significant disruptions. Giang and other passengers had to return to the departure point, wait in line for compensation, and endure an entire day of delays. The following day, they resumed their journey but were split into different flights, departing at various times and undergoing the immigration process from scratch.

Born Nguyen Giang My, the former beauty queen gained fame as 'Miss Hung Temple 1989' and later pursued a career as a model and actress. She has since transitioned into the business world, where she continues to be active.
