El Chapo's beauty queen wife Emma Coronel resumes work after prison release
Emma Coronel, the beauty queen wife of notorious Mexican drug lord Joaquín' El Chapo' Guzmán, seems to have reclaimed her former glamour following her release from prison. Still married to the ex-Sinaloa Cartel boss, who is serving a life sentence in Colorado's Supermax prison, Emma has reemerged into the public eye with a renewed sense of purpose.

Released by the US Federal Bureau of Prisons in September last year, Emma had initially been sentenced to three years behind bars for her involvement in drug trafficking, a sentence handed down in November 2021. However, her time was cut short, allowing her to return to the spotlight sooner than expected.

Earlier this month, Emma dazzled her Instagram followers with a series of photos showcasing her in elegant white and black dresses, fully made up and seemingly returning to her roots in the beauty industry. Her most recent post featured fashion stylist Edgar Ramos and the women's clothing store MAXA, with the caption: "Enjoy whatever you do to the fullest; in the end, that will be your only reward."

Emma's journey into the tumultuous world of El Chapo began in 2007 when they met at the Coffee and Guava Festival beauty pageant in Durango, Mexico. Their whirlwind romance led to marriage in 2008, and by 2011, she gave birth to their twin daughters in California.

El Chapo, whose criminal legacy continues through his offspring, fathered numerous children, including four sons who now control a faction of the Sinaloa Cartel. Known as Los Chapitos—Iván Archivaldo Guzmán Salazar, Ovidio Guzmán López, Jesús Alfredo Guzmán Salazar, and Joaquín Guzmán López—these heirs uphold their father's notorious reputation. While Ovidio was captured in January last year and is awaiting trial in the US, his brothers remain elusive, continuing the saga of their father's criminal empire.
