Former beauty queen among 143 victims of Moscow massacre
Russian beauty queen Ekaterina Novoselova, 42, was among the 143 victims who tragically lost their lives in the Moscow massacre at the Crocus City Hall on Friday. Ekaterina, a former beauty pageant winner from Tver in 2001, had been living in Moscow at the time of the attack.

The Islamic State group claimed responsibility for the horrific attack, marking it as the deadliest in Russia in years. The concert hall, located in Krasnogorsk just outside Moscow, was engulfed in flames, with its roof collapsing, leaving devastation in its wake.

The attack occurred during a performance by the Russian rock band Picnic, as the hall was filled with concertgoers. Russian President Vladimir Putin condemned the act as a "barbaric terrorist act" and assured that the four assailants responsible had been captured and detained. He also vowed that all those involved would be punished.

It was revealed that the attackers had attempted to flee towards Ukraine, with reports suggesting that some individuals on the Ukrainian side had been prepared to assist them in crossing the border from Russia.

The aftermath of the attack was marked by scenes of heartbreak, as some victims were found in embraces, including mothers holding their children. The streets were illuminated by the flashing lights of emergency vehicles, including fire engines and ambulances, while helicopters buzzed overhead to contain the blaze.

Footage showed the attackers arriving at Crocus and passing a police patrol to gain access to the hall, highlighting the arrogance of the assault and the challenges faced by authorities in preventing such tragedies.
