The makers of Tom Clancy's Without Remorse just released the movie's trailer earlier this month and the entire two and a half minutes is a wild ride. The action thriller film stars Michael B Jordan in the lead role and the film is written by Taylor Sheridan and Will Staples and is being directed by Stefano Sollima. The trailer gives us a glimpse into the origin tale of John Kelly aka John Clark and Jordan has portrayed the character with as much suave as one expected from the books. Here are five moments from the trailer that kept us glued to our screens:
At the start of the trailer, we hear a woman's voice describing Kelly as being more dangerous and effective as any other covert officer or soldier that the US government has on the field. Jordan's Kelly attempts to break out of his jail cell by flooding it and absolutely wrecking every officer that comes in through the door trying to restrict him. Not only do we get a glimpse of Jordan's bulging muscles but also his absolute badassery as he takes a break after having smashed his restrainers.
Jordan's versatility is in full display as we see the reason he's so furious. The trailer gives us a glimpse at his calm and chill side when he's dancing with his pregnant wife who gets killed in a supposed random home break-in. The shot of his face as he realises his wife and unborn child are dead gives us chills.
Then there's the part where Kelly is informed that the CIA has given up investigating his wife's murder and we get an idea that not all is as black and white as it seems. Is Russia to blame completely for Kelly's wife's murder? We're hooked on to our seats waiting to find out.
"We're gonna play by my rules now" - Kelly utters this chilling dialogue when he realises that someone's playing both sides. His team is attacked when their plane is blasted to bits, leading us to the the most WTF moment of the trailer - Kelly lights a car on fire and - wait for it - gets into the burning car to confront a Russian diplomat in an attempt to glean information out of him.
The ultimate WTF moment comes when we realise that Kelly has been forced into the dark side - he's a man who plays by his rules now instead of fighting for a team or country. This gives us an idea as to how he became Jack Ryan's dark side.
The film premieres globally on 30th April on Amazon Prime Video.
