In contrast, the Agile methodology allows the scope to be broken down into multiple epics, further divided into meaningful business user stories. These user stories can be prioritized for sprints, enabling simultaneous business planning and delivery. Despite this flexibility, having a clear scope remains vital to meet business needs. Any scope mismatch can lead to significant delays. To manage scope better, clearly define and document all requirements at the project's outset and continuously prioritize and refine them through regular stakeholder reviews and feedback sessions

Para entender el alcance del proyecto, es recomendable que todos los requerimientos sean especificados y documentados. Mientras mas detallados mejor, ya que despues se pueden dejar suposiciones o malos entendidos. Redactar un antecedente de la necedidad de negocio o como se origino el requerimiento puede ayudar para comprender la situacion del cliente. Diagramas de situacion actual y situacion propuesto pueden ayudar para comprender un panorama general hacia donde se desea llegar.

Most of the time, dependencies are underestimated when setting realistic deadlines. Any system dependent on another system should have a clearly defined scope and a timeline estimated with a buffer to handle integration issues. If we are able to cover the dependency well in our WBS, it will lead to meeting the schedule on time. And importantly, the WBS should be built with meaningful tasks. In my experience, I have seen tasks created like checking emails, technical calls, and meetings. This kind of task will lead to uncertainties in the timeline. These should be grouped under Administrative tasks, and clear, productive hours should be set for the team. Seven hours of productivity and 1 hour of administrative help to see the burndown well.

Establecer las tareas a realizar y dimencionar el tiempo que se lleva cada tarea debe de tomarse en cuenta la vision de un miembro experto en la ejecucion asi como miembros de pococa experiencia. En ocasiones se vende el proyecto con tiempos estipulados por personal experto sin tomar en cuenta que el recurso asignado a dicha tarea es inexperto, esto ocasiona estress , espectativas poco realistas y desgaste en el equipo ya que para dar ese resultado es desgastante aunado que puede probocar entregas de baja calidad. Es mejor poner tiempos realistas de acuerdo al recurso asignado.

Also, finances play an important factor in choosing the resources within budget. Well-defined roles and responsibilities help to find the right resources for the need. Continuously monitor how resources are being utilized throughout the project. Use project management tools to track progress and adjust allocations as needed. Be prepared to reallocate resources according to priorities. In my experience, we often use a DBA resource as a shared resource with multiple scrum teams that focus on building applications.

Risk management is essential for effective project planning. The risks must be monitored and updated regularly. Identify potential risks at the outset and develop mitigation strategies. Create a risk register that includes potential delays and their impact on the project. Build buffer time into the project schedule to accommodate unforeseen delays. Use flexible project management methodologies like Agile to allow for iterative progress and adjustments. The regularly updated risk register will help the project manager analyze the risk earlier and avoid schedule delays. Navigating project delays and setbacks as a project manager requires a blend of proactive planning, effective communication, and adaptive problem-solving.
