At AMS, we believe in giving back to our community. That's why we're proud to dedicate our time with the Minneapolis Crisis Nursery, a beacon of hope for families facing crisis situations.   This week, our CEO Jim Hilt had the privilege to speak, sharing his commitment to supporting the Crisis Nursery and highlighting the importance of community involvement in creating positive change. Further more, some of our employees, who have dedicated their time to the nursery, also had the privilege in accompanying him at this Formula for Hope event. This event not only allowed us to show our solidarity with the nursery, but also provided a platform to contribute directly to their cause.   The Minneapolis Crisis Nursery provides a safe haven for children during times of crisis, offering essential services to families in need. Through our ongoing support, we aim to make a meaningful difference in the lives of these children and their families.   Thank you to all AMS employees for your dedication and generosity. Together, we're making a positive impact in our community and spreading hope to those who need it most.

Happy National Earth Day! To show the Earth some love, over twenty AMS employees ventured out to collect litter on our premises and the surrounding area. We successfully managed to gather roughly 15 bags of liter today! This was a great opportunity to get outside to refresh, network with colleagues, and contribute to the improvement of the planet. We’re so happy we were able to play a small role in making the Earth a better place! 

We are absolutely thrilled to share some incredibly exciting news with you all! AMS is proud to announce the forthcoming launch of something truly remarkable: The Fairmont Collection Reserve Plus. This collection stands as one of the largest hoards of US vintage pre-1933 gold coins ever discovered, each meticulously graded by PCGS with the highest standards for eye appeal and luster. Our dedicated team has invested months of hard work and passion into this project, and we couldn't be more excited to finally unveil it to our valued customers and partners. Stay tuned for more updates on this remarkable initiative – there's plenty more to come!

Congratulations to Holly Ring, Jenny Thomas, and the entire Fulfillment department for being recognized through the “You’ve Been Spotted” program in Quarter 1! Holly Ring was recognized for her outstanding leadership, attention to detail, and dedication to delivering quality work on multiple projects this quarter. She successfully led a significant project by effectively managing inventory and scheduling to ensure its success. Jenny Thomas was nominated for consistently going above and beyond in her role and for her department. She ensures customers are well taken care of and supports the rest of her team when needed while always providing a warm and kind spirit. The Fulfillment team is in recognition of the outstanding efforts made by all members over the past quarter. The coordination and effort required to manage inventory counts, create a plan for pick, pack, and shipping, and coordinate all the pieces involved was exceptional. The team executed these tasks with efficiency and professionalism. Once again, congratulations to those acknowledged this past quarter! AMS expresses immense gratitude and pride in having a strong team that contributes to the organization’s overall success.  

Susan Taylor began her career at the Royal Canadian Mint while she was still studying art and history at McMaster University, with an apprenticeship as a Mint Engraver. She specialized in bas relief sculptures and coin designs, and early on showed skill in 3D sculpting, both with traditional plaster and some of the very first digital sculpting software.   In 1981 she was hired to the position of a Mint Engraver where she worked for over 15 years, sculpting coin designs and preparing master tooling for the presses. She left the mint in 1996 for family obligations, but returned in 1999 as Senior engraver of the RCM. After over 33 years at the mint, she finally retired in 2017, becoming a member of the International Art Medal Federation (FIDEM).   Over the course of her career, she has designed a number of coins and medals for the RCM, and privately, after her retirement. She won the American Medal of the Year Award in 2016 for her stellar work on her Remembrance medal, and in a ceremony at the 2023 World Money Fair, she was honored recipient of the 2023 “COTY” lifetime achievement award.   Of course, the most memorable of all her achievements for us is this classical design of Lady Peace which debuted on the 2019 Peace & Liberty Medals. It was such an honor to have Susan here for the launch of the Light of Liberty Trilogy. Her experience and unrivaled talent in sculpting – particularly in ultra-high relief – is clearly seen in her designs. But what we really love about Susan is the infectious energy and passion she brings when talking about her work and what inspired her. You can’t help but get excited yourself!
