🌟 A Message from Our Chief Underwriting Officer 🌟 About 25 years ago, I approached my friend from FSU about buying a bucket shop agency he had in a rough part of Fort Lauderdale. He thought I’d do better to join him and his buddy Joe in a new venture where my background would serve me well—an MGA called Bass. I was a bit skeptical, and the entrepreneur in me just wanted to do my own thing, but we worked out an arrangement, and I dove in. He sure was right. I love insurance agents; they are just like me, mostly, and I love working out deals with companies and risk-takers to support the profit we deliver. It has been a long road with many challenges, and many times we have been pushed to just give in and cash in our chips. However, the love of the business and the challenges to continue evolving and adjusting are just way too satisfying. What I love the most at this point is our commitment to creating careers for all the people we hire. We have so many smart, ambitious people with amazing opportunities at their fingertips. Seeing them succeed and grow professionally is definitely the most satisfying part of this entire career for me. We never went outside our organization to grow to a billion dollars; we always stayed committed to our people, and they never disappointed. I truly love everyone in this organization, and there is no one in any business more grateful than I am.

We are thrilled to announce the newest recipient of Bass Gives Back. David Andrews, 38, went to the hospital in June 2023 with gallbladder pains, where a large malignant mass was discovered in his colon. Sadly, he was diagnosed with Stage 4 Colon Cancer. After his diagnosis, his treatment included four surgeries and four rounds of chemotherapy. During this time, he was unable to work. In May of this year, David had his last surgery, and his scans and bloodwork have come back clear! We are so happy to hear that he is currently cancer-free! Although he is in recovery and adjusting back to his normal life, the stress of mounting medical bills and missed time at work has taken its toll. The Bass Gives Back donation will help alleviate that financial burden. We will continue to pray for David to remain cancer-free!
