An outcomes agency at the intersection of business, politics, and policy. We make change possible.

About us

Bully Pulpit International (BPI) is an outcomes agency at the intersection of business, politics, and policy. Born in politics and founded by leaders of the Obama campaign, we apply our unique expertise from these experiences to create sophisticated and customized strategies for companies, causes and candidates. Our clients include established market leaders, new economy firms, philanthropists, CEOs, and elected officials. What these varied brands share in common is the growing need to establish differentiated and lasting bonds with their consumers in a world of fragmented media, deep skepticism, and rapidly changing culture. Reputation has never been more relevant to business ROI, and in our view requires consumers to believe — not only in what a brand is saying, but also in why. We combine proprietary technology and deeper insights to build believers with the speed and agility that today’s market requires. At Bully Pulpit International, we make change possible. To us, this is more than a commitment—it's a passion. Because we truly believe in the work we do.

A huge thank you to Erica Pompen, Dana Salloum, Jim Murphy and Jeremy Galbraith for sharing their insights on the critical role communicators can play in navigating this high-stakes global election year and the change it will bring during our webinar with PRWeek this week. And a special thanks to BPI’s Bradley Akubuiro for moderating!  A few key takeaways from their conversation: 💭 Communicators should consider what is global and what is local — and where any overlap is — when approaching any topic or issue. 🎯It is critical to be business and mission focused while finding ways to bring solutions to the table when driving priorities forward with policymakers. 🤝Unified collaboration across a business is the best way to keep your policy priorities clear and ensure any progress made isn’t lost due to any changes in government. • An important day for immigration policy and our country, thanks to President Biden’s new pathway to citizenship for 500,000 immigrants. Action like this doesn’t come without tireless advocacy — kudos to our friends at the American Business Immigration Coalition (ABIC) for their efforts to make this program possible, strengthening the economy and protecting families across the country. BPI is incredibly proud to see the results of ABIC’s hard work to drive critical progress for our country! https://lnkd.in/gC6gD6i8

Media Supervisor at Bully Pulpit International

I was so honored to be the keynote speaker at the Washington Media Scholars Foundation Award Luncheon! It was truly a humbling moment to share my experience of meeting with dozens of publishers, TV stations, and vendors back in 2018 that specialized in the intersection between politics and media. This networking week definitely played a major role in my career, and it was lovely to reconnect with these talented and engaged folks. Thank you to Robin Roberts and Tori McMichael for entrusting me with this esteemed role, and big congratulations to Abby Jensen and Shelby Moore for taking home the win!

  • 🎙 ⚡ BPI's Andrew Bleeker and Robert Gibbs were back in Europe this week with BOLDT. Across the board in this global election year, one thing is for certain: uncertainty — and the fear that comes with it. The Wall Street Journal today emphasized that, highlighting all the ways that surprise has been the constant winner in elections around the world so far this year: https://lnkd.in/e8-JyE_x. Though organizations may be tempted to press pause, leading through this moment of change requires us to prepare for any outcome, especially the unexpected ones. Andrew's reflections from this week offer a few themes to consider as you tackle this challenging, and often unpredictable, time. ⬇

    President, Bully Pulpit International

Europe is scared. It was terrific to meet with many of our colleagues and clients in London and Oslo this week. With new election results seemingly daily and the EU, UK, and the US around the corner, organizations are often paralyzed, searching for clarity. Yet, they cannot afford to waste a moment as few of the challenges they face will recede post-election. I wanted to share a few of the themes, starting with my envy of what the Brits feel is a ‘long’ six week campaign. 1. *Security is issue 1, 2, and 3*. Defence actually. This is not a theoretical question in Europe and one that is displacing other urgent priorities. Across Europe countries are making generational shifts to accelerate investment and doing so in unprecedented cross-party fashion. 2. *Energy is security*. Both countries and corporations still believe strongly in the green transition. But it is balanced more with a desire for domestic production - not unlike the US. Often there is real tension between the insatiable power needs of both technology (AI and data centers) and critical industry. Finding renewable methods to supply both is urgent. 3. *All politics is local*. I guess this is comforting. Despite broad agreement on the challenges facing Europe, many obstacles remain. NIMBYism is universal. People ask why should our resources be used to help power Europe’s green future. And as it’s Europe, local communities are often tiny and very powerful. Yet, innovation is everywhere and in sectors that are far different than Silicon Valley. We’re lucky to have terrific partners in BOLDT as we navigate these challenges together. I look forward to seeing many of you again soon!
