The Supreme Court decision in U.S. vs. Rahimi this week will save countless lives because the law prohibits individuals subject to Domestic Violence Restraining Orders from owning or purchasing guns. CCS supports this nearly unanimous SCOTUS decision, which will reduce relationship violence fatalities nationwide. Women in abusive relationships are 500% more likely to be killed when their abusers have access to guns. #supportsurvivors #preventassault #endrelationshipviolence #CCS

The California Governor's Office of Emergency Services has notified CCS and similar organizations statewide of a plan to reduce funding for victims services by 44.7%. Cuts of this magnitude could leave countless survivors of relationship violence and sexual assault with no place to turn. CCS is a regional leader of these services and funding cuts will have a dramatic impact on our programs and services, including our four domestic violence shelters and operation of one of the largest Rape Crisis Centers in California. If you are in need of services or support, please call our 24/7 confidential crisis hotline at 888-385-4657.
