Congratulations to Dr. Scott Kohlert on becoming an American citizen 🇺🇸! Dr. Scott Kohlert joined us in 2019, bringing his expertise in head and neck cancer surgery to our community. Originally from Canada, he came to Texas in 2018 to complete a renowned fellowship and stayed, because he was drawn to the efficient and effective health care system in the U.S. He is dedicated to providing timely and high-quality care, especially for cancer patients. Dr. Kohlert and his family—wife Claire and their two daughters—have embraced life in Tyler, finding it a wonderful place to raise a family and enjoy the warm weather. He is proud to be part of a medical community offering exceptional care without the big city hustle. His journey to American citizenship is a testament to his commitment to our patients and our country. The Fourth of July is right around the corner, and we hope everyone has a happy and fun holiday! Please keep yourself and those around you safe by practicing firework safety. “Fireworks are extremely dangerous – especially sparkler bombs,” said Kathy Rodgers, director of trauma for CHRISTUS Southeast Texas – St. Elizabeth. “If you do choose to use fireworks at home, there are some things to remember. Do not use fireworks while under the influence, do not hold them in your hands, do not light them indoors, maintain a safe distance once its lit and under zero circumstances allow children to use them without supervision.” The celebration is meant to be fun, and CHRISTUS Health wants to make sure you’re keeping your health and well-being in mind. https://lnkd.in/g2C6rXyE

James, a long-time Walmart associate, pours his heart into the annual fundraising campaign at Walmart and Sam's Club , driven by a deeply personal mission: his granddaughter, Scottie. Scottie was born prematurely at CHRISTUS Shreveport-Bossier Health System and faced immense challenges. But Scottie is a fighter, and today, she is healthy and thriving, thanks to the incredible care she received and the support of Children's Miracle Network. Scottie's mom, Cari Lyn, sees the difference these fundraising efforts make. "Because of the incredible fundraising efforts of Walmart and Sam's Club associates, like my father-in-law, children across the U.S. have a fighting chance." Last week, our CHRISTUS Santa Rosa hospitals spent a fantastic evening partnering with our friends at the Intuitive Da Vinci 5 Surgical Robotic System Symposium! We hosted an incredible lineup of physicians who shared their firsthand experiences and success stories with our state-of-the-art DV5 system. Led by Dr. Doug Stoddard, director of robotic surgery at CHRISTUS Health, Doctors Joseph Karam, Kent Sadler, and Grace Hsiung detailed how the system's surgical precision enhances patient outcomes and surgeons' experiences.
