Every month, Mosaic Life Care recognizes caregivers who go “above and beyond” and demonstrate one or more of Mosaic’s core values – Diversity and Inclusion, Sacred Trust, Integrity and Life Care – through the In–the–Spotlight Outstanding Performance Award (ITSOPA). Caregivers, patients and visitors can nominate any caregiver, doctor, advanced practice nurse or volunteer for this award. ITSOPA recipients are given the chance to become the Caregiver of the Month. Today is International Yoga Day, and people worldwide will be striking warrior poses to celebrate. In this corner of the world, Mosaic recognizes yoga as a powerful tool for improving physical and mental well-being and can be especially beneficial for those with a cancer diagnosis. “Yoga helps cancer patients, and survivors by reducing fatigue, improving sleep and decreasing pain,” says Jess Bledsoe, Mosaic physical therapy assistant and yoga instructor. “Additionally, it supports mental health by decreasing anxiety and enhancing overall emotional well-being.” Mosaic Cancer Care offers free yoga classes every Tuesday from 4 – 5 p.m. in St. Joseph. Have you been to a Mustangs game this season? In case you missed it, the Mustangs started the season 12-0 and are now sitting at a record of 15-2 on the season! We captured some photos of the post game fireworks after the win on Saturday night. But, they're much better in person! Along with all the great walking trails around St. Joseph, we also have the Ribbon Walk Trail on Mosaic’s campus near Mosaic Cancer Care. Walkers and joggers enjoy it daily, and we're glad to have it as part of our campus for patients and visitors.
