The weather’s getting hotter and so are things on the R Stand, with Aeon R hot fires reaching full power and their longest durations to date. ✔️ Longest hot fire: 180 seconds at 100% power ✔️ Increased thrust: 258K --> 268K 🔜 More blue fire and an upgraded engine coming soon. Build, test, and fly with the team: https://lnkd.in/dmaGJr7b

Making blue fire is fun. But knowing our Aeon R engines will effectively propel Terran R to where it needs to go is more fun. Using key learnings from our test campaigns and information from a maturing vehicle design, we are constantly iterating on Aeon R to optimize it for Terran R. Changes in the engine design include re-orienting the turbopumps to better fit the vehicle geometry and boosting the thrust level from 258,000 lbf to 268,000 lbf. Every decision to upgrade the engine design is made in service of the larger goal: making Terran R the world’s next great commercial launch vehicle. 🚀 https://lnkd.in/dmaGJr7b
