How do we know what the truly useful real-world AI innovations are? How do we unlock their transformational power? And what’s the best way to apply AI in the enterprise? At this week’s Citi Gen AI Summit 2024, I had the honor of speaking on the Applying AI to Industries panel with like-minded entrepreneurs who are leading similar efforts to bring vertical AI to the enterprise. Bob van Luijt of Weaviate, Vishal Marria of Quantexa, Ben McKean of Hungryroot and I discussed vertical applications of AI. It’s clear that gen AI has transformed how we think about and use AI and our expectations about value. In just the last 18 months, Chat GPT has grown to 200 million active users. We now view a natural language interface as a normal way to interact with applications. We are well into the gen AI hype cycle. But predictive AI has a vital role to play in the AI revolution, and we believe that the combination of the two is critically powerful. Since the beginning of 2023, SymphonyAI has launched nine enterprise predictive+generative AI copilots that help companies address specific use cases in financial crime prevention, retail/CPG, industrial manufacturing, enterprise IT, and media. These products help workers do their jobs more effectively and efficiently, with more insights and the ability to plan for what’s next. The SymphonyAI platform at the core of our vertical applications and innovation is called Eureka AI. It provides intelligent data, ML, gen AI, and advanced UX capabilities for our products. That has led us to recently be named Microsoft’s AI innovation 2024 partner of the year, an absolute testament to our partnership and the recognition of the impact that enterprise AI can have on business operations. Thanks very much to Sirisha Kadamalakalva, Philip Drury, Jan Metzger and the entire Citi team for including SymphonyAI in the discussion and conference.
