Today marks a special day in history as we celebrate the birthday of the brilliant polymath, Leonardo da Vinci! As you know, The Leonardo in Salt Lake City was created to embrace the spirit of curiosity and imagination that defined Leonardo's life. And to help celebrate da Vinci’s 572nd birthday, we're thrilled to share some exciting updates with you! You spoke, and we listened.   Beginning this week, and thanks to a very generous sponsorship by the University of Utah, our immersive exhibit, "Into the Mind of Artificial Intelligence," will be included with purchase of general admission to the museum. Consequently, we will be implementing a slight increase in our general admission prices (from $12 to $16 for an adult ticket). The complete Leonardo experience will be available for the price of a single ticket, and as always, members will continue to enjoy free admission. So, let's celebrate in style!

The event brought together various thought leaders from different sectors to speak in a close setting about cutting edge topics like the future of democracy, artificial intelligence, education, health, and space exploration. As one example, Fabian VanCott attorney Tanner Bean presented to attendees regarding the future of religion as it intersects with law, politics, and policy. Last Thursday, members of Albion's team joined (we also sponsored) the 'Leo 500: The Future of Everything' an imaginative dinner event at The Leonardo in downtown SLC. In between the mingling, the conversations, and the delicious fare, guests were able to sit down at various tables to engage in intimate discussions about the future of topics such as women, power, and #money; democracy; #AI; journalism; education; and much more. It was a terrific event - a "Ted Talks meets Chef’s Table with a shot of the Wasatch mountains" - one we were proud to be a part of! Sharing an innovative idea for a gathering and fundraiser. The Leonardo in Salt Lake created an event called the Future of Everything. They had 15 tables set up to facilitate a dinner conversation on different topics such as the future of education, the future of trees, the future of the AI. My topic was the future of women, money and power. Guests rotated for 20 minute discussions before moving onto the next table. A different course was presented with each conversation. I started by asking everyone at the table, who, in their household is the primary decision-maker around everything financial. For independent households obviously that’s one person, though there was one woman who was divorced, who said her ex-husband continues to make all her financial decisions. Most people said if they were coupled up, they made it together, that said, if not, it was more likely to be the man. In two cases, it was the woman, and they also identified as the primary breadwinner. I also went around the table and asked every participant if we could answer one question about the future of women, money and power this evening what would that question be? Needless to say I got some super interesting answers and will write about them in a future post. I think most people are tired of the fundraisers where you eat dinner and are just talked at for hours and hours. This was a wonderful way of getting to know people, having everyone in a conversational role offering the opportunity to connect at a deeper level. I learned so much! #expertinsights #futureofeverything #futureofeducation #futureofdemocracy and so many more … #fundraisingideas The Leonardo Well done Alex Hesse and team. Including the creative table center that is now on my desk. Some of the fabulous experts featured! Lauren Gustus Sidni Lloyd-Shorter,PsyD Sunny Washington Chandana Haque Ben McAdams
