Unleash Immunity

About us

TScan is dedicated to creating life-changing T cell therapies for patients by unleashing the untapped potential of the human immune system. TScan Therapeutics was founded in 2018 by a small group of scientists led by Dr. Stephen Elledge (Harvard Medical School/HHMI). TScan is discovering and developing novel TCR-engineered T cell therapies for the treatment of cancer. Our discovery platform is centered around a breakthrough technology that enables the rapid, comprehensive, and genome-wide identification of the peptide antigen targets of T cell receptors. This technology greatly enhances our ability to understand the specific antigens that drive important disease processes, including tumor cell recognition by the immune system, self-reactivity in autoimmune disorders, and acquired immunity in infectious disease. TScan is using the platform in oncology to discover new TCR/target pairs and to rapidly move novel TCRs into clinical development.

"Early awareness can save lives." In honor of National Cancer Survivor Month, we are sharing stories from #TScanners about how cancer has impacted their lives. These stories of survivorship come from Christina, our Senior Lab Manager, who shares her family's journey.   Christina wears three pins representing her loved ones who have fought cancer and won!   One pin is for her sister, recently diagnosed with thyroid cancer during a routine check-up. Despite the nerve-wracking weeks of waiting for her sister's biopsy results, the cancer was caught early. Her sister's care team operated quickly, and the surgery was successful. Christina shares, "We're so thankful her doctor was able to detect such a small tumor to begin with."   Her second pin honors her sister’s father-in-law, who has bravely battled blood cancer for several years. He has been cancer-free for over one year following successful treatment with CAR-T therapy!   Her third pin is for her aunt, a breast cancer survivor. This pin is especially significant as her grandmother died of ovarian cancer. Her aunt's diagnosis led her aunt, mother, and all their sisters to undergo BRCA1 genetic testing, promoting early awareness and proactive measures.   Christina emphasizes, "Early awareness can save lives. Unfortunately, the balance in my family still skews in the wrong direction, but with advancements in genetic testing, early diagnoses, and therapies, we can hopefully see that balance shift in the future!"   We thank Christina for sharing her family's inspiring stories of triumph over cancer. Let's continue the fight! #NationalCancerSurvivorMonth

“Ask for the test. Ask for the procedure. Be your own advocate."   In honor of National Cancer Survivor Month, we are sharing stories from #TScanners about how cancer has impacted their lives. This story comes from Pam, a valued member of our supply chain team and a cancer survivor herself, who reflects on her brother’s experience with cancer.   Pam's brother, Mark, was a healthy 44-year-old with a loving family, many friends, and a great laugh that could light up any room. In 2005, he began experiencing severe stomach issues and fatigue, even needing to pull over for naps while driving. Despite being treated for acid reflux for nearly a year, his condition didn't improve. Finally, he admitted that 'something is wrong'. He sought out scans and tests and was diagnosed with stage 4 stomach cancer. Mark bravely fought for six more months before losing his battle to cancer. Pam is deeply grateful to Dana Farber and Brigham and Women's Hospital for their exceptional care of Mark during his time there.   We honor Mark's story as a reminder of the importance of self-advocacy in healthcare. Pam shares, "Ask for the test. Ask for the procedure. Be your own advocate. My brother's story is one of the reasons I came to TScan Therapeutics. Let's help find a cure and beat cancer.”   We thank Pam for her courage in sharing his story, which reminds us to continue the fight against cancer. #NationalCancerSurvivorMonth
