With an impressive passion for math and strategy, Leslie possesses a strength that allows her to calculate the most effective outcomes in minimal time. But her true superpower lies in her unwavering love for people, making her a symbol of positivity in our workplace. Outside of work, Leslie is an adventurer at heart, always seeking new experiences and challenges. Yet, amidst her busy schedule, she finds solace in unwinding with a good book and a glass of sparkling water on her balcony. For these reasons and many more, Leslie is one of our #BestPeople.

Dr. Syed Riaz, you take our breath away! Well, technically, as an interventional pulmonologist, you do the opposite, but the metaphor still stands! Anyway, can we take a moment to congratulate Dr. Riaz on completing his 50th robotic bronchoscopy using the ION navigation-guided technology? For added flex, he completed all 50 cases in 50 days. "Jolene, you truly are an angel sent from above to help us through the most difficult time of our lives. I can’t thank you enough. "We are honored and touched that you chose to sing for us. It brings us so much joy to know CJ was loved and that he touched so many lives already. That was the most beautiful, perfect way to say our final goodbye." This excerpt was from a letter written to our very own Jolene Otubu, a Virtua high-risk OB nurse. Jolene attended to a patient who tragically lost her baby after a full-term induction. Jolene provided unwavering support during this profoundly traumatic event. She offered strength to the grieving family, a listening ear as the tears flooded the room, and a shoulder to cry and lean on. On her day off, with the family’s consent, she performed a rendition of “The Prayer” while holding the baby, CJ. She then gently placed him in a bassinet to be respectfully taken from the room. It's for this reason, and many more, that we're honored to present Jolene with the Here for Good President and CEO WE Award. We had a wonderful day on the links swinging for a great cause at the 2024 Virtua Health Golf Classic! 142 golfers joined us for a sunny day down the shore at the prestigious Union League National Golf Club. On July 1, 2019 - Virtua and Lourdes officially came "two-gether" to better serve our neighbors in South Jersey. Back in 2019, we celebrated by launching our #VirtuaRocks project. Through this initiative, we invited colleagues to write messages of hope, inspiration, and kindness on rocks that we placed in spaces throughout our community. Today, as we recognize this milestone, we checked back in to see if our colleagues still had their rocks from that day. And of course they did! From all of us at Virtua, happy anniversary to a day that transformed South Jersey for good.
