Do you love reading powerful, thought-provoking books? Are you interested in understanding the broader systems that contribute to youth homelessness? Do you want to understand how to help within the context of a passionate community? If so, you're invited to join our inaugural book club, led by Founder and CEO Carley Kammerer! Youth homelessness is a symptom of many other complicated situations, and this club will create a space where community members can come together, learn, and actively address this critical issue. We'll be choosing a new book every quarter that focuses on poverty, housing instability, personal stories, and methods of solving homelessness. We will meet on the last Tuesday of the month from 7 to 9 p.m. (a combination of virtual and in-person gatherings). We're thrilled to announce that our first book will be the powerful "No House to Call My Home: Love, Family, and Other Transgressions" by local author Ryan Berg. This is a unique opportunity as Ryan will join us for the final discussion, adding depth and insight to our understanding of youth homelessness. We believe that all young people deserve a family and a home. At Wildflyer, we strive to be that safe and supportive family and home for youth who haven't always had stability in the past. Through Wildflyer's programming, young people don't just learn how to make coffee and write a resume (although those are important skills!), they learn that they are worthy of love and care and a supportive community. Young people like Lala. Lala says that her life before Wildflyer was really rough and dark and that Wildflyer was the light to her tunnel. During her time at Wildflyer, Lala truly thrived. We are proud of her success and feel lucky we got to journey alongside her. We need your support as we end 2023 so we can continue to ensure that all young people can experience a sense of home and have the opportunity to exit homelessness for good. We have a goal to raise $40,000 by year-end, and each gift is matched dollar-for-dollar by our friends at the Kind World Foundation. Donate today and show the youth in our community that they're not alone: https://lnkd.in/gNBSw3E2

What an honor to host this inspirational group of international social entrepreneurs. So much encouragement, free flow of thoughts and ideas and sharing of stories. Keep making your corner of the world a better place everyone!
We were so grateful to host international social entrepreneurs through Global Minnesota and the U.S. Department of State! Visitors toured social enterprises REPOWERED (fka Tech Dump & Tech Discounts), Peace Coffee, and entrepreneurs at Midtown Global Market. Special thanks to Carley Kammerer from Wildflyer Coffee for sharing your experience. Social enterprise, or business for good, is an international concept and connection point. It goes far beyond just ourselves with impact that ripples around the world! Good luck to these incredible social enterprise leaders and they take their findings back to their respective countries to make impact.

We're thankful to our friends at Open Your Heart to the Hungry and Homeless for a generous grant to fund basic needs items for youth in our programs. This funding will provide our program participants with bus cards, work attire, and gift cards. Ultimately these items will support our youth in removing barriers so they can focus on their employment and transition from homelessness to stability. Thank you for investing in our young people.
