What do you do if your interviewee's performance doesn't match their resume?
Sometimes the resume does not tell the whole story. This is where video profiles can assist prior to an interview. When you hear a candidate going into detail about their experience it helps you paint the whole picture. You want to pull on the candidates strengths and set them up to be successful in the right role. If it is not right for them it will not be right for you.

What do you do if you need to negotiate a better job offer in Staffing Services?
When negotiating a better offer from the Staffing firm side, you have to listen first to your candidate. Understand and know what is important to them so when you speak to the customer, you can have your facts straight. Also, listen to your customer and hear their stance on it. You have to have a firm grip on your market and know what market rates are for the role. Help the customer understand from the candidates perspective and vice versa. This requires a strong understanding of both sides views. Working together, you may be able to come to a suitable solution where both sides are happy. Listening and understanding are the most important factors here.

You’re struggling to solve a staffing problem. What are the most common mistakes you might be making?
It surprises me when a company says they want to fill a role on their own to save money. To do this, they rely on HR to find a candidate. HR still has an immense workload and doesn’t have enough time to invest in recruiting. I have had managers tell me they can call me and have candidates in hours or days or call their HR and have candidates in weeks. When a position goes unfilled for a long period, consider the true cost! Staffing/recruiting firms do this all day long and may have candidates in mind for you right away. It may have a cost, but it may safe you money in the long run.

What are the most common performance issues when evaluating a Staffing Services provider?
If a staffing/recruiting company just throws a bunch of resumes to you to sort out, think about what value you are getting. If you work with a staffing/recruiting company that listens, takes time with each candidate, has extensive conversations and video to pre-qualify them, and rethinks the process, you are receiving much more. I have been in this business for many years and have seen the good and the bad. Please weigh out what you actually receive for the service provided.
