Whānau Āwhina Plunket

Administrator - Nelson

Join us to be the first point of contact introducing and connecting whānau with our nurses and wider Plunket services. We’re seeking the support of a full time Administrator (38 hours a week) to join our team on a permanent basis in Nelson. This is a Monday - Friday, 8.30am - 4.30pm role.

Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity

Our administrators receive and process the referrals from midwives and other maternity providers by contacting whānau to congratulate them on their new arrival and arrange their initial visits with our registered nurses. You will also manage our 0800 number, answering queries from the public about our services and rescheduling appointments. In addition to the phone based mahi, this position also involves an element of data entry and database management to ensure both our clients and staff know where they are going, who they are meeting and what to expect. Working with whānau across South Island, will require a general geographical understanding of the area or you will need to be a map whizz!

The salary band for this role is between $51,376 ($26 per hour) - $58,114 ($29.41) depending on experience.

He kōrero mōu | About you

As a critical part of our front-line team, being able to quickly build rapport and gain trust will be key to your success, ensuring each interaction with our whānau is a good one, you will also be confident working autonomously, at pace and meeting targets and service level agreements.

Working in a medical administration role requires a high level of sensitivity, ability to prioriotise and maintain confidentiality. This is a inbound/outbound phone-based position, so an excellent phone manner and accurate data entry skills are key. Prior experience working in an call centre environment would be advantageous, alongside a hunger to play a key part in our pro-equity journey to ensure our communities thrive.

This role supports with the upkeep of our vehicle fleet (e.g. dropping cars for servicing) so we require all applicants to have a full NZ driver licence.

We expect and encourage all Plunket people to live our values; kia māia – to be courageous, kia Māhaki – to be humble, kia manaaki – to care and kia tūhono – to stand in relationship.
