Are you a leader in aviation? Do you want to support the next generation of aviation technicians? Do you have a passion for education? Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics’ (PIA) Hagerstown Campus is looking for a Campus Director to oversee daily operations of the campus and its activities.
The Campus Director is responsible for the overall management of the campus including revenue and budget management; facility maintenance management; student retention; community partnerships; procurement; employee engagement and retention, and compliance with state, federal and accreditation guidelines.
Responsibilities:
Follow appropriate procedures as established by administration for recruitment, selection, training, developing, and maintaining a productive workforce
Adhere to all applicable tenets set forth in the Employee Handbooks
Communicate with supervisor and departmental leadership at the main campus frequently to provide updates and collaborate
Responsible for ensuring student/staff access to the facility during published hours of operation
Assist with development of tracking of, and adherence to annual expense budget for campus. Work with administration as necessary for expenses that are unbudgeted or over budget
In conjunction with faculty/lead instructor, manage and approve education department’s material needs and budgeted equipment and capital purchases
Serve as point of contact at campus location for asset donations and federal surplus opportunities
Lead and participate in student retention activities, including but not limited to student advisement, and attendance and academic hearings. Thoroughly document all interactions in accordance with school procedures
Foster communication and positive relationships with industry and community entities
Assure full compliance with regulations and requirements of the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC), Department of Education (DOE), Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and other federal and local agencies
Responsible for planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising employee performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and addressing complaints and resolving problems
In collaboration with departmental leadership, assure proper and productive processes and supervision of employees carrying out admission, student services and financial aid services
Conduct graduation ceremonies and participate in other school-related events including Open Houses and Orientation
Maintain a safe and quality working and learning environment including the physical facility and grounds, Ensure Facility compliance (regulations, fire extinguishers, inspections, drills)
Address and document withdrawals and reentries in accordance with school procedures and in cooperation with the Registrar
Conduct meetings with faculty, student representatives, and Program Advisory Committee
Participate in ongoing professional development programs and relevant organization memberships
Conduct faculty performance appraisals, disciplinary and advisement meetings, and action plans. Document per school policy
Delegate tasks/projects to instructors and (in conjunction with departmental leadership) departmental staff
Onsite Title IX coordinator. Work with Executive Director for Academic and Student Affairs on issues as the arise
Work with Executive Director for Academic and Student Affairs to evaluate, carry out, and document requests for accommodations
Work with Director of Education and other department leaders to ensure ongoing educational effectiveness and improvement for accredited programs.
Contribute to essential School publications such as the Catalog, Student Handbook, and Faculty Handbook.
Participate in hiring of new faculty members.
Train and/or oversee training of new faculty and education related supervisory staff, as necessary.
Evaluate new textbook selections.
Participate in weekly and quarterly department meetings
Responsible for review and approval of time off requests, payroll hours, adjunct and exam fees
Prepare and oversee FAA testing paperwork for students
Prepare class schedule for faculty (assigning individual faculty members to courses and populating dates in CNS)

Qualifications:
The following requirements list the minimum education/training/experience required to qualify for this job. An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be accepted.
A Bachelor’s Degree or higher in the field of Education, or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience
5 years of supervisory experience, with preference for leadership experience in an educational setting
Demonstrated experience in leadership, communication (written and verbal), and organizational ability
Budget Management experience
Experience with CNS or other CRM software preferred
Aviation industry knowledge and experience preferred
