Claims Manager

Job Description

A third-party administrator (TPA) is looking for a Claims Manager to join their team. The ideal candidate will have comprehensive knowledge and hands-on experience in managing commercial auto, bodily injury and litigated claims. This Claims Manager will play a crucial role in overseeing the claims process by ensuring timely and accurate resolution and maintaining excellent customer service standards. This is an onsite role located in Texas.

Job Responsibilities

  • Assist in building and managing a team of claims adjusters by providing guidance, training and performance evaluations.
  • Oversee the end-to-end claims process, including intake, investigation, evaluation, negotiation and settlement of commercial auto, bodily injury and litigated claims.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry regulations, legal precedents and emerging trends to inform decision-making and drive continuous improvement.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for clients, addressing inquiries, resolving issues and fostering positive relationships.
  • Proactively manage service level agreement (SLA) compliance.
  • Report to the chief operating officer on claim metrics, SLA compliance and claim quality.
  • Facilitate back-office support for required client and financial reporting.
  • Participate in marketing calls and visits with clients, as needed.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in commercial auto claims management
  • Proven track record of success in handling bodily injury and litigated claims
  • Prior experience in a supervisory or managerial role within a TPA or insurance company
  • Strong knowledge of insurance principles, regulations and best practices within the commercial auto insurance sector
  • Excellent leadership skills
  • Ability to motivate and mentor a diverse team
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in relevant software applications, including claims management systems and Microsoft Office suite
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment while maintaining attention to detail and accuracy
