Assures the safe and appropriate use of medications in patients through the application of specialized knowledge of pharmacotherapy. This position requires the use of judgment in the collection and interpretation of data, communication with patients and inter-professional communication with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals. Acts as a drug information resource person to patients, medical staff, nursing staff and ancillary department personnel. Acts as the director for the hospital PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency Program. Actively participates in the department's performance improvement activities and coordinates Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee meetings and as well as other committees. Supervises Pharmacy Residents and Pharmacy Interns. Reports to Clinical Pharmacy Manager. Position Qualifications: Bachelor of Science Degree in Pharmacy required, Doctor of Pharmacy Degree preferred.Previous hospital experience required.Previous clinical experience in an acute setting terpersonal and leadership skills preferred.Good organizational skills preferred. Computer skills: Microsoft Office Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel required. Required Licenses/Certifications:Current Registered Pharmacist license in the State of Florida required.Current Consultant Pharmacist license in the State of Florida pletion of pharmacy residency training pletion of a BCPS (Board Certified Pharmacotherapy Specialist) by the Board of Pharmacy Specialties preferred.Preceptorship responsibilities.
