As a Commercial Underwriter Trainee, you will play a crucial role in the commercial lending process, ensuring the efficient and accurate processing of commercial loan applications and maintenance of existing relationships. You will work closely with clients, underwriters, and various internal departments to gather necessary documentation, verify information, and facilitate a smooth loan approval process. You will assist in completing financial analysis for floorplan lines, floorplan buyouts and other commercial lending, including real estate. Responsible for facets of commercial credit packages, including maintenance of UCC filings, and review of loan documentation prior to funding.
Review and analyze commercial loan applications for completeness and accuracy
Prepare and organize loan files for underwriting and approval
Communicate effectively with internal teams, clients, and third-party service providers to obtain additional information as needed
Responsible for pulling credit reports and conducting background checks on loan applicants
Ownership of UCC filing process, ensuring legal security matches that defined in the credit package
Monitor and track the status of loan applications, providing regular updates to stakeholders
Prepare legal documents and follow up to ensure necessary documentation is received.
Ensure all loan documentation meets regulatory requirements and internal policies including required notification procedures
Maintain a high level of customer service throughout the underwriting process by promptly responding to inquiries and proving assistance to clients
Process annual reviews of existing commercial loans to assess ongoing credit risk
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Understanding of commercial lending practices, regulations, and compliance requirements
Demonstrated interpersonal skills to collaborate with teammates, plants, senior management, and clients
Strong work ethic with an ability to meet deadlines while multi-tasking
Ability to identify and resolve problems in a timely manner
Effective decision-making, customer service and problem-solving skill
Exceptional attention to detail and organizational abilities
BA/BS degree required
Previous experience in Commercial lending or equivalent including credit, structuring, financial statement analysis and marketing is a plus
Beginning to intermediate MS Office skill in Excel, Word and PowerPoint
$24.03 per hour
