Community Engagement Coordinator
Archipelago Strategies Group, Inc. (ASG) is looking for a dynamic Community Engagement Coordinator to join our award-winning team. We are looking for an initiative-taking, community-oriented, and thoughtful professional who will be responsible for activating community engagement campaigns while coordinating activities between members of the community and cross-functional internal teams to ensure the timely and successful delivery of our solutions. The ideal candidate will have experience in people-facing and/or project-based work, volunteer management. Advocacy/organizing is a plus (including work as a volunteer in your community or on-campus).
Primary Accountabilities
Assist events team in execution of events with operational and logistical excellence using industry standard knowledge and applying innovation
Collaborate with Events Managers to manage all logistics, such as but not limited to, location sourcing, ordering of supplies, event promotion, event cost management, vendor management, event staff scheduling, transportation of materials, etc.
Build and maintain relationships within targeted communities
Consult and collaborate with community members and groups
Ensure that service standards and quality measures of agency/community/client needs, and demands are established, implemented, and monitored
Build and manage a field leadership team to execute complex field plans
Oversee Captain and Outreach Ambassadors teams
Establish a strong professional culture within the field organization focused on accountability, specific goals, innovation, and sense of purpose
Direct flyer distribution in key locations, such as places of worship, food pantries, supermarkets, social service hubs etc.
Create and strengthen partnerships with community organizations and local groups
Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Access to the internet is required
Flexibility to work evenings and weekends, especially during campaign peaks
Must have a driver's license and ability to access a vehicle when statewide travel is permitted
Bilingual in Spanish, Haitian Creole, Portuguese, or Cape Verdean Creole highly preferred
Minimum Skills
Experience collaborating with diverse staff teams
A working knowledge of the complex needs of a wide variety of events, and basic event planning
Demonstrated ability to build and motivate teams and work effectively in a team environment in both a management and support role
Strong organizational skills and ability to monitor campaign progress and keep the teams motivated
Demonstrated ability to form meaningful and respectful relationships with community members
Strong written and verbal communication skills including public speaking
Experience recruiting, training, and managing volunteers desired
Must possess the ability to think creatively and strategically
Proficiency with Microsoft Windows applications, Google Drive, NGP-VAN, Canvasser preferred
Must be able to work independently without intensive supervision
Strong people skills, including the ability to work with diverse groups of people
