Job Summary

Provides a wide array of financial accounting support to the project operations team from project inception to the final closeout stages. This role will focus on project-related Accounts Receivables, Accounts Payables, Compliance, Subcontractor relationships, and other various interactions as needed. Must be able to prioritize tasks, master time management, and be able to provide impeccable support to the iConstructors operations team, clients, and subcontractors.

Primary Responsibilities

As an iConstructors Project Accountant, you will work closely with our Project Management team as well as our accounting staff and be responsible for the following duties:

• Verify and import project budget estimates into accounting software.
• Manage all project-related compliances examples:: Track all NTOs, Request Certificates of Insurance, W9’s and make sure all are uploaded into the accounting database along with documenting on Project Logs.
• Process all project related Accounts Payables for designated Business Unit/PM’s:
• Entry of All Hard Copy General Condition invoices into Accounting Software
• Manage subcontractor electronic billing portal for receipt of all sub pay applications
• Expense reports
• Credit Card reconciliation
• Prepare all project-related Accounts Receivable pay applications and submit to clients
• Forward project management necessary AP, AR, and project-related reports as requested
• Facilitate all subcontractor lien releases pertaining to release of monthly payments
• Manage onboarding and provide the necessary support to subcontractors in electronic billing portal to ensure successful implementation
• Provide backup assistance to Project Coordinators if/when needed in their absence relating to work orders
• Assist project management and project coordinators with the project closeout process
• Set up, lead, oversee, and implement procedures to ensure client contractual requirements are met in regard to progress billing, invoicing, change orders, and applicable accounts payable auditing. Perform client contract analysis to determine the billing deadlines, payments terms, billable and non-reimbursable expenses, agreements for insurance and fee billings along with approved billing rates for staff and/or trade labor.
• Regularly audit client billing and project ledger, ensure both are meeting with contract requirements, GAAP, and company policy.
• Audit accounts payable for subcontractor invoice processing, ensure all applicable lien waivers are submitted and contracts and insurance requirements are in place before scheduling payments. Report to the project team on any subcontractor payment issues.
• Manage monthly closing process ensuring all client bills and project costs are posted or accrued if work is in place and of material value.
• Manage project financial closeout along with the project team. Ensure final contract amount and closeout documentation requirements have been met and agreed to by subcontractors before issuing final payments.
• Consistently focus on streamlining and process improvement
• Assist with project documentation including subcontracts, change orders, etc.
• Lead weekly section on AR collection in accounting meetings
• AP – Input all accounts payable
• Responsible for the accuracy and timeliness of income and expense input.
• Receiving of cash receipts, deposits, and communication.
• Serve as a key point of contact to other functional areas on core accounting matters.
• Assist with various special projects, tasks, and processes.
• Other activities, duties, and responsibilities as assigned.
• Orders bulk materials for projects
• Order misc company related safety items and gear
• Cuts monthly auto allowances
• Deposit Client checks
• Client billing for project managers
  
  

Qualifications:

• Previous experience working in the construction industry required
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field preferred, with 3 years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience preferred
• Excellent knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP) to ensure timely and accurate reporting
• Understand the accounting implications of various contract terms related to profitability and risk management
• Must have strong proficiency with financial systems applications and MS Office, specifically Excel and Word
• Must be self-starter, adaptable, and flexible to operate with minimal direction and little or no supervision while working in a complex and changing environment
• Exercise independent judgment and discretion with the ability to identify problems and make recommendations for resolution
• Demonstrated leadership, strong dedication to teamwork, and integrity within a professional environment
• Ability to multitask, prioritize and manage expectations in a fast-paced environment
