Construction Project Controller

We are a fast paced company that manages the development and execution of Real Estate construction projects throughout North America. We are seeking an experienced, and well-organized person, to assist the Project Management/Owners Representative team with respect to the oversight of Hotel and Commercial Renovations, Conversions, and New Build Development. This role requires the candidate be proficient in all Construction Project Accounting functions as detailed below and have excellent Excel stills. This is initially a PT position but has FT potential.

Position Responsibilities

·      Assist in developing project budgets, estimates, and assembling cost reports. Manage the Project costs from initial project programming through design development, project execution, and closeout.

·      Develop and maintain project budgets, develop exec level cost reports.

·      Manage construction cost accounting, including updates to forecasts, budget transfers, cash flow, advanced warnings, and change management.

·      Assist in the solicitation, bidding, award and administration of the contracts for design professionals.

·      Solicit and review construction cost estimates and prepare findings and summaries for clients. Assist the Project Management Team with making value engineering recommendations to client regarding alternative designs or changes in construction means or methods which may save costs with respect to the improvements or construction.

·      Assist in the solicitation, bidding, leveling, award and administration of the contracts for constructing the Project, and assist in communications with the various contractors, architects, engineers and other consultants retained by Client.

·      Review and submitting of monthly pay applications.

·      Assist in determining the amounts due to any of Clients Contractors, for work performed on the Project.

·      Assist in reviewing change orders or construction change directives for the Project.

Minimum Requirements

·      Bachelor degree in Project/Construction Management from a four-year college preferred.

·      Hospitality experience preferred.

·      Min 3-5 year’s previous experience in the Project Accounting, and Development/Project Management or Construction field.

·      Reliable and organized.

·      Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, Excel, Outlook, MS Project and Acrobat.

·      Ability to create project budgets and detailed cost estimates in a high quality, presentable, and clear format.

·      Must be detailed and have excellent analytical skills, and be proficient in all construction accounting principles.

·      Must speak and write perfectly fluent English.

·      Excellent oral and written presentation skills.

·      Ability to work from HQ in Fairfield, CT or Phoenix, AZ with occasional travel anticipated.
