Director of Enterprise Risk Management

JCW Group is partnering with a rapidly growing commercial bank to hire a Director of Enterprise Risk Management. This position will be heavily involved with maintaining the firm's enterprise risk management framework and will work to mitigate risks across all areas of the bank’s operations. This is a full-time opportunity based out of the bank's NYC office.

Responsibilities:

• Establish and uphold the bank's risk management framework, encompassing policies, procedures, and approaches for risk identification, assessment, and control.
• Spearhead initiatives to pinpoint and evaluate risks related to the bank's operations, covering credit, market, operational, liquidity, and compliance risks.
• Partner with senior leadership and the board to define and convey the bank's risk appetite and tolerance, ensuring they align with strategic aims and regulatory standards.
• Continuous Risk Monitoring and Reporting: Set up and maintain systems for continuous surveillance and reporting of key risk indicators (KRIs) and risk exposures, delivering regular updates to senior executives, the board, and pertinent committees.
• Risk Mitigation and Regulatory Adherence: Formulate and execute risk mitigation strategies, controls, and action plans to effectively handle identified risks, while also ensuring adherence to regulatory guidelines like Basel III and the Dodd-Frank Act.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, risk management, business administration, or a related field. Advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., FRM, PRM, CFA) is preferred.
• Extensive experience (15+ years) in enterprise risk management or a related field within the banking or financial services industry.
• In-depth knowledge of risk management principles, practices, and methodologies, including risk assessment techniques, risk modeling, and scenario analysis.
• Strong understanding of banking regulations and regulatory requirements related to risk management, including Basel III, stress testing, and risk governance standards.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess complex risks and develop pragmatic solutions to mitigate them.
