Overview of the Position: This is a hands on full-time position performing day-to-day duites including oversight of production and quality assurance. The Senior Manager of Copacker Processing will ensure accurate product specifications, food safety, and quality by performing the following duties in conjunction with copacker partners, as needed and determined by leadership.

What will you do?

  • Develop and maintain a team to oversee all duties and responsibilities of the Operations department.
  • Develop and maintain Processing partner scorecards.
  • Oversees weekly production, onsite as required by production schedule, at various processing partners
  • Ensure product specifications are achieved
  • Performs weekly review of production yield reports and communication performance, provides reporting and analysis back to leadership as required
  • Manage new program and product implementation at various processing partners.
  • Reviews production details and coordinates all order fills and necessary adjustments
  • Provides weekly summary reports to the processing partners
  • Work with operations staff to address concerns with raw materials from external suppliers
  • Ensures compliance with national and international standards and legislation, considering the application of environmental and health/safety standards.
  • Coordinates audits as scheduled and ensures all identified issues are addressed
  • Conducts inspections of processes and employee training and ensures compliance with applicable food laws, regulations, and GMPs
  • Works with vendor partners and serves as a liaison between copackers and Meyer
  • Assist with other duties as assigned

Do you have the education and experience for this role?

  • Bachelor’s degree with a preferred emphasis in food technology/science is required
  • 7+ years of related experience in Beef Plant Operations and Yield Analysis is required.
  • Previous leadership experience and the ability to support copacker and vendor relationships is required
  • Previous plant experience is required
  • Previous experience in the Beef, Pork, and other protein industry is required

Compensation: $185,000 to $205,000/ annually (depending on experience)

  • Strong understanding of operations and quality assurance required
  • Capable of providing support, serving as a contact between the Meyer Operations Team and leadership at individual copacker locations
  • Advanced skills managing copacker relationships
  • Capable of supporting profitability through advancement of Meyer team culture
  • Advanced analytical skills required and ability to multi-task
  • Exceptional attention to detail and thoroughness in completing tasks
  • Frequent travel to various plants through the United States and Canada is required
  • Knowledge of new processing technologies and new packaging formats
  • Knowledge of beef, pork, and other protein industries
  • Knowledge of SSOP, GMPs and HACCP CCPs as required in the protein/beef industry
  • Must have a clean driving record, maintain current vehicle insurance, and be able to pass insurability guidelines for drivability
