This is a 6–12 month contract opportunity.


The Payroll Director will oversee all aspects of payroll processing and administration within the organization for the specified duration of the contract. This includes managing payroll operations, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations, implementing best practices, and providing leadership to the payroll team as it develops over time. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in payroll management, exceptional organizational skills, and a thorough understanding of payroll systems and processes.


Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the end-to-end payroll process, including payroll preparation, processing, and distribution for all employees.
  • Ensure accurate and timely processing of payroll, including salaries, wages, bonuses, commissions, and deductions, and the applicable state filings and payment submissions..
  • Develop and implement payroll policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and company policies, in conjunction with the legal department and external counsel.
  • Stay up-to-date on changes in payroll laws and regulations and ensure the organization's payroll practices remain compliant in all jurisdictions in which we operate.
  • Manage payroll audits and reviews, ensuring accuracy and integrity of payroll data.
  • Collaborate with HR and finance teams to address payroll-related issues and provide guidance on payroll matters.
  • Lead the year-end W2 preparation for employees.
  • Work closely with and manage relationships with external vendors and partners to manage payroll-related services and relationships.
  • Prepare payroll reports and analysis for management and other stakeholders as required.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or related field.
  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in payroll management or related field.
  • In-depth knowledge of payroll laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Experience with payroll software and systems (e.g., ADP, Paychex, Workday).
  • Experience with ERP software and company organizational charts and departmental allocations.
