Opening in 1st quarter of 2025, Owensboro Racing & Gaming will be CDI’s newest state-of-the-art venue featuring 600 state-of-the-art historical racing machines (HRMs), a retail sportsbook, simulcast wagering and multiple food and beverage offerings.
We are actively seeking a Director of Security & Surveillance who is responsible for providing strategic leadership and accountability for the overall operations of the Security & Surveillance departments. Responsible for the overall operation of the Security & Surveillance departments to meet all gaming regulations as well as protect company assets, guests, and employees.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
Provides protection and safety to guests and Team Members.
Oversees processes for the hiring, training, development and efficient management of Security & Surveillance staff
Plans and organizes workloads and staff assignments as well as trains, motivates, and evaluates assigned staff
Review staffing levels to maintain budgeted levels of employment. Delegate authority and assign responsibilities.
Meet with departmental directors and managers as necessary.
Establishing and maintaining working relationships with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies to include community involvement.
Manages property emergency and disaster plan.
Manages program to deny under age people access to gaming areas.
Establishes and maintains department standards, guidelines, and objectives, and oversees other administrative processes, such as budget and staffing, to ensure proper planning and efficient operation of the Security & Surveillance departments
Develops and implements comprehensive surveillance strategies to monitor all areas of the property, including gaming floors, back-of-house areas, entrances/exits, etc.
Determines surveillance equipment needs to sufficiently observe, report, and record procedural violations and activities that may be unusual, suspicious, or illegal
Oversees the operation and maintenance of surveillance equipment and software systems, including CCTV cameras, digital video recorders, and monitors to maintain situational awareness
Collaborates with IT and security departments as well as outside vendors to address technical issues or security breaches related to surveillance systems
Utilizes appropriate telephone and radio protocol to maintain communication as a central point of contact for security-related incidents and emergencies
Investigates and leads the response to security incidents, alarms, and emergencies, directing surveillance operators and security personnel to take appropriate actions and coordinating with law enforcement as necessary
Monitors all company assets as well as property employees and guests for procedural violations
Reviews and verifies all logs and reports of incidents involving cheating, theft, fraud, or other security breaches to the appropriate personnel
Adheres to all gaming policies, procedures, and regulatory guidelines regarding surveillance operations to ensure confidentiality and ethical conduct
Maintains knowledge of gaming laws, regulations, and company policies to ensure adherence to all safety protocols and procedures
Acts as a liaison with external agencies and/or company leadership to recommend and implement improvements in practices and procedures
Performs other related duties as assigned

Education And Experience
High school diploma or equivalent
Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, or related field
4+ years of progressive experience in surveillance, security, or related field
Must obtain valid gaming license, where applicable
